On June 30th the regional-scale landscape nature monument Vargachnoye-Korbozerskoye was established by the Republic of Karelia Government Resolution № 223-П dated June 21, 2016. The feasibility study for the protected area was prepared by the Forest Research Institute KarRC RAS together with staff of the Petrozavodsk State University and NGO SPOK. Research supervisor was A.N. Gromtsev, DSc.
